Amy Simpson
Project Officer - Risks and Benefits
Amy Simpson is a Research Assistant at the Welsh Institute for Health and Social Care (WIHSC), at the University of Glamorgan. Amy Simpson and Professor Marcus Longley (director of WIHSC) will be working in close partnership with Genetic Alliance UK, on the Risks and Benefits project.
The Risks and Benefits project will examine how patients and their families affected by genetic conditions perceive the balance between the risks and the benefits of new biomedical therapies. Based on a Citizens' Jury model, the project will involve up to 16 patients and family members in deliberative dialogue on this complex issue.
Amy will coordinate the research over the next 18 months. Amy will be based at the University of Glamorgan in Pontypridd, but will work closely with the team at Genetic Alliance UK.
