We are seeking to appoint up to four new trustees.
Our Board of Trustees is made up of representatives from our membership. We aim to have a broad range of experiences on the Board, including people directly affected by a genetic or rare condition, carers and family members as well as those working in a professional capacity at one of our member organisations.
The Board of Trustees provides strategic direction and governance to our charity, helping to support the Senior Management Team and guide all aspects of our work. Trustees are also registered as directors of Genetic Alliance UK Ltd (our registered company name).
Trustees are expected to attend four board meetings a year and to participate in the life of the organisation between meetings. Meetings are held in London on weekdays. Appointments are for three years and renewable for a further term.
Selection, Election & Appointment Process
In order to serve as a trustee of Genetic Alliance UK you must be nominated by one of our members using the form on page 3 of our trustee recruitment pack. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview and the panel will subsequently decide which candidates to recommend to our membership at the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) (15 October 2019). Prior to proposal for election to the Board, due diligence checks will be completed. Appointments will be confirmed in writing, subject to the outcome of the vote at our AGM.
